Does anyone else compile ‘Wish Lists’ throughout the month? I do…! I’ve currently got a Beauty Wish List as long as my arm because there are just far too many wonderful products out there that I am desperate to get my hands on! I tend to watch lots of brilliant beauty vlogs and read all the beauty sections in magazines, take note of products that interest me, read up on them and then if they make the cut…they’re on the Wish List. I find that this is a fun way to motivate me throughout the month so that I can look forward to popping to Selfridges on the last Friday of the month, in my lunch hour, and purchasing a couple of items from said Wish List.
Which is exactly what I did yesterday!
Two items on my Wish List that I’ve wanted for a seriously long time are the Tom Ford Nude Vanille Lip Colour and the Nars Radiant Concealer in Custard. And I’ve now got my hands on them, yippee! If you’ve read my blog before, you’ll know that I’m utterly obsessed with a nude lip. I’d say it’s almost like my trademark look as I love a smokey eye (always using Tom Ford’s Golden Mink Eye Palette and MAC’s matte eyeshadow in ‘Bark’) paired with a nude lip using a matte lip colour and then most often topped with a nude gloss (my go-to is Chanel’s 202 Beige Star).
Since Tom Ford released his beauty line, I’ve been an advocate predominantly because the range houses stunning, subtle colour hues and sublime quality products. The packaging is also to die for and I must admit that I feel special when I’m at the counter as it’s a real beauty experience and you feel looked after (especially in the Selfridges Manchester Exchange Square concession!).
Now, I’ve mainly been wearing MAC’s Honey Love lip colour mixed with a dash of MAC’s Peach Stock and then topped with the Chanel gloss I mentioned previously. But MAC’s lipsticks just don’t quite cut it for me anymore; they’re drying and I find my lips almost peeling throughout the day despite me religiously using Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream (seriously, it’s by my bed at all times and I cannot go to sleep without layering it all over my lips!).
So I felt it was time to seek out a new nude! I’d seen a lot of vloggers (Lydia Elise Millen is my particular favourite so check out her YouTube channel if you haven’t already) using Tom Ford’s Lip Colour in Nude Vanille and it looks insanely beautiful. I’ve got a couple of the Tom Ford Lip Colours already but they’re not matte – they’re glossy. So this felt like my perfect match! And it is. I can’t rave about this product enough. To Tom Ford, there is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip and I see lips as having the power to define a woman’s whole look. Essentially Each Lip Colour in the range is Tom Ford’s modern ideal of an essential makeup shade so I knew I was in good hands by choosing the Nude Vanille shade!
The beautiful quality about these lipsticks is that Tom Ford uses rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil to create an ultra–creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. The formula also means that specially treated colour pigments are blended to deliver pure colour with just the right balance of luminosity. Basically, this product will not dry your lips out due to the balance of hydrating ingredients and it will provide a stunning colour because of the quality of blending hues. I’m sold. It’s a stunning beige nude which layers well with my lip liner and it feels like silky velvet on application. It’s also so ‘light’ that it doesn’t feel like I’ve coated my lips in anything. All in all, I’m really happy with this purchase and excited to wear it over the weekend!

The second item on my Wish List was the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I’d heard SO much about this product from watching a series of beauty vlogs. I’ve never really been a die hard fan of NARS, mainly because I bought the foundation when I was younger and absolutely hated it…so it made my relationship with the brand turn sour! But, they’ve redeemed themselves in my eyes! This concealer is stunning. I am using it purely under my eyes for radiance and to contour my nose. Custard is a medium shade and according to the lovely Artist at the counter in Selfridges, it’s the brand’s best-selling shade and range of concealer. I can see why.
Coveted by artists for its luxurious texture and luminous finish, new Radiant Creamy Concealer evens skin with lightweight medium to high buildable coverage. The product is enriched with hydrating, multi-action skincare benefits and light diffusing technology, creating a softer, smoother complexion while instantly obscuring imperfections and diminishing fine lines and signs of fatigue.
It’s also long wearing AND crease-proof which is perfect. Who else has had that issue with concealer where it creases in fine lines and looks caked? Not with this product, folks. It’s also paraben free, alcohol free and synthetic fragrance free. I love this product as it really does cover darkness under the eyes well and reduces any redness making me feel and look luminous and awake. I’m really happy with this purchase and can’t recommend this concealer enough.
