The Beauty Product I Can’t Live Without

I’m a beauty obsessive.

My Mother informed me that this obsession started as a toddler when I used to ‘borrow’ her beloved red Chanel lipstick to coordinate with my nappy (I’m not even joking).

Beauty has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember; make-up and skincare are undoubtedly a passion of mine and I was lucky enough to work within the industry for The Estée Lauder Companies at their Head Quarters in London for almost five years before I made the move back to Cheshire/Manchester.

They were the best career years of my life but the Big Smoke just didn’t cut it  – I’m a lover of countryside, horses and family and for me, the hub of all this was back up North. I’ve also met my wonderful boyfriend back up North so leaving the bright lights of London has certainly had its positives.

I’m an advocate of so many beauty and skincare brands; Clarins is a particular favourite as I have sensitive skin and their products just work beautifully for me. I’m also a lifetime lover of Estee Lauder double wear foundation (since I was 16!), Tom Ford Beauty and Chanel. Prestige beauty is my preferred avenue; mass brands sometimes irritate my skin so I choose to invest in my beauty wardrobe in the same way I invest in my fashion wardrobe.

Now, I’ve never really used By Terry skincare products; I’ve read and heard lots of positive reviews about them but haven’t chosen to invest. Until now.

Space NK is one of my favourite stores due to the vast nature of the prestige offering – much of which you can’t even find in Selfridges or Harvey Nichols. I’d heard great things about BY TERRY’s radiance-boosting Cellularose® Brightening CC Lumi-Serum and thought it was about time I tried it.

To provide a bit of background on why I chose to invest, basically I use fake tan but don’t particularly like to tan my face as most tanning products can be drying. Not only is the By Terry Cellularose Serum a moisturising serum, it also contains pigments that provide a sunny glow (hence my chosen shade being ‘Sunny Flash’). So you can pop this on in the morning and add colour and radiance to your skin without necessarily needing to apply foundation. I love it.

The product truly tackles signs of skin fatigue – instantly – as it uses light-reflecting technology to give skin an even, youthful-looking appearance. I absolutely can’t live without the glow it gives my complexion (I feel like I’m on holiday all year round). The colour in the bottle can look a little scary, but it’s not at all as it’s a completely natural finish once moisturised into the skin and definitely just a sunny glow!

The serum also contains vitamin E (which protects against aging free-radicals) so it’s perfect for promoting youth and vitality. As mentioned previously, I chose the ‘Sunny Flash’ shade for my skin tone but there are also three other beautiful shades available: ‘Immaculate Light’, ‘Rose-Elixir’ and ‘Apricot Glow’.

At £61 for 30ml, it is a pricier option compared to other serums on the market, but I guarantee you will fall in love with this as much as me. It’s a real gem.

In the image below, I’ve actually mixed the serum with my foundation to give a golden glow. It’s also perfect on its own if you’re off to the gym and don’t want to wear make-up as it wakes up your skin and gives it some much needed colour.
