Chanel and Clarins | My Summer Beauty Edit

Summer is officially here.

And it couldn’t arrive at a better time for me; I’ve recently had (what I’d term as) a lucky escape from an incompatible relationship (with a commitment phobe) and left a job at a PR agency (a hellish place… to put it mildly) to embark on a new, exciting career journey as Group Marketing Manager at a luxury hotel group.

I’ve also been pouring positive energy into friends, family and fitness, having already become an advocate of Barre Core and Pilates alongside my usual Hiit and gym training.

Change is a blessing.

It’s given me the power to change my story, for the better. The recent experiences I’ve been through  have actually been lessons and learnings; blessings in disguise which I’m really thankful for.

Because I’m happier.

Change applies to beauty too and in particular, skincare.

I went on holiday to the South of France recently with my family (and cherub of a nephew) where temperatures were around 31 degrees daily…hot and humid but perfect tanning weather.

It’s important to protect your skin in such temperatures; we all wear sun-cream abroad, pop conditioner on our hair, drench our lips in Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream when they’re chapped…so you should apply the same care and thought to your Summer skincare regime.

If you’ve read previous posts, you’ll perhaps know that I’m fond of the Dior Hydra Life range. But I’m now an advocate of the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel collection.

I get swayed by new skincare and beauty products (who doesn’t?!) but always end up coming right back to the brands I love.

For me, Clarins is the go-to brand for all my skincare; cleaners, serums, moisturisers, oils, exfoliators.

The Hydra-Essentiel Serum and Gel Sorbet face cream are my current favourites. This range is simple. It just hydrates the skin to make it radiant, fresh and smooth. And it works! My skin has never felt or looked better.

What I particularly like about these two products is the texture of each. The serum just feels so lovely and soaks into my skin immediately.

The Gel Sorbet cream feels cooling and smells so divine; a real luxurious treat morning and night.

I’m also absolutely loving the Chanel CC cream.

Not only does this product have SPF50 which was perfect to wear on holiday pool-side, but it’s a non-oily colour correction cream that gives pretty much the same coverage as a foundation but with all the benefits of great, luxury skincare.

It’s pure brilliance; comfortable on my skin, lasts all day, gives a beautiful colour (I swear by 04 Beige) and smoothes fine lines. Winner!

With its natural-origin active ingredients, this CC cream basically offers 5 actions in 1 simple step:

• Corrects: a Prunus Persica peach complex awakens the skin’s natural defenses against ageing and surrounding pollutants.

• Moisturises: Hyaluronic acid helps maintain optimal hydration levels all day long.

• Soothes: a marine extract comforts all skin types (even my sensitive skin!)

• Protects: SPF 50

• Perfects: reduces the appearance of redness, dark spots and pores

I can’t recommend this product enough. You need it in your skincare wardrobe!

The two images at the top of this blog show my skin/make-up using all the products above. I’ve been using the skincare and CC cream for 6 weeks now and can see a real difference in how my skin looks and feels!

What are your go-to Summer products? Please do leave me a comment and let me know; I’m always interested to hear about which brands/ranges people use.
